Morning Work: Copying a sentence from the board; correcting mistakes. Focus: every sentence starts with a capital letter AND every sentence ends with a punctuation.
Geography is part of morning work. We have a new map every week. You can find this week's focus on the Geography Page. This week's focus is Directions on a Map.
Religion: Chapter 4: God Our Father is Holy
Superkids: We are starting 1st Grade work next week! This last week of Kindergarten review dips a toe in the waters of our spelling routines. Mondays we have Spelling Pre-Tests, and we have re-takes on Fridays for those who did not achieve an A the first time. You can find the Spelling Words for the week here. Children will begin to have Spelling Homework every night. Please check the planner, sign off in your child's assignments, and help them take responsibility for putting it back into their BLUE folder to turn in.
You should make verbal spelling practice a daily habit at home to strengthen your child's spelling skills.
Decoding is the process of putting together sounds to make words. You can practice with your child reading simple CVC pattern words like dog, cat, bag, box, kick, rock, etc.
Math: One fewer, one more. Ordering numbers 0-12. Counting on, both forwards and backwards. There will be one page of math homework assigned EVERY day. Please check the planner, sign off in your child's assignments, and help them take responsibility for putting it back into their BLUE folder to turn in.
I do not give written homework on weekends, but your child is expected to read their Library book every day. I recommend 2-3 AR tests per week.
